Day 9 September 2016 30 in 30 Challenge I love the pose of this pelican. She feels so fancy! Since I’m out of town, I brought multiple 6×6″ blocks of watercolor paper with me. This painting is therefore part of the 6×6 series. Today, I explore more of the Asheville, NC area. Who knows what … read more
Day 19 of the 30 in 30 painting challenge. I received some wonderful photos from a friend, and I cropped this one for the painting. I had actually bought myself a camera so that I could ‘hope’ to catch some shots for resources. There’s no denying that getting a good photo is no easy task. So … read more
Day 12 30 in 30 painting challenge. Part of the challenge is being ok not being perfect or achieving the goal everyday. I have had to accept that in this challenge. Feels like forever since I’ve been back here and in fact it has been 11 days. Where the time flies to, I don’t know. After the #jan30in30 challenge, I had some bookkeeping to do, and other catchup activities I’d put aside. A few sales were also nice and a new source of resource photographs to … read more
A beautiful soft, closeup, photograph by Melani Votaw prompted me to paint this flamingo. I had to spend a lot of time mixing colors as I didn’t have a color I felt matched. Finally, I decided to just do it, and see what happened.
