In my attempt to become acqainted with the birds that migrate and nest in South Florida, I started visiting Wakodahatchee wetlands and Green Cay wetlands in Delray/Boynton Beach.
Photography, much less photographing birds, is no mean feat. I attempt it, and have gotten some good resources of birds standing relatively still. But when it comes to action…almost impossible.
Just so happens, the above mentioned wetlands have a Facebook group and that is where I can drool over birds from ‘real’ photographers, whether professional or otherwise. I have happily gotten permission to paint from photos from some of them.
To my surprise, I was commissioned to paint one of the photographer’s favorite photos. And the result was this roseate spoonbill.
