I think I begin each post with…this is one of my favorite animals or birds. Truth is, painting really gets me closer to creatures and I can’t help but fall in love with them. I am falling way behind in really learning about each one and being able to impart information, but I suppose my readers can google those facts if interested.
The pileated woodpecker was one of our favorites in the wooded area around our house when we lived in Atlanta. Their “rap, rap, rapping” on the trees let us know of their existence. And we loved it. Now that we live in Florida, by the beach, this is not a sound we hear. Am I getting a bit nostalgic?
This painting is one in a series of 6×6″ block paintings. I have them lined up, standing on my furniture and love this new look for small paintings.
If you click to purchase the the original, just under the photo, you will notice that I have a selling site on Artfinder for my original paintings. I’m excited to have a place to conduct transactions for these pieces. Until I build my own ecommerce website, Artfinder will be the go-to place for purchasing my originals.
