Painting an iguana has been a long time in coming. While I have taken photos of iguanas myself, a friend took a stunning photo and hinted that I paint it! Since having a good photo resource and permission to use it is a major challenge I must overcome with every painting, it was a relief to just be able to set about painting.
I never know how a painting will come out. When starting one, it goes through stages that sometimes make one question the painting’s worth. Luckily I have learned to ignore those thoughts and just keep moving. I am very pleased how this one has turned out.
It is now part of by 6×6′ block series.
