WOW, this year is flying by. Another nesting turtle season is upon us! As you may know, I will again be protecting the nests on the beach two nights a week. My husband and I work together in a zone from 8 – midnight. I like the change of pace, being outside and doing something to protect the environment. While we are not to interfere with nature, we ARE to assist the turtles who find human lighting more enticing than the ocean. This disorients them, and then they need our assistance to guide them back to the ocean. I should be starting this routine in a week or two!
In the meantime, I have to keep up with my turtle paintings! I am happy to say that they keep selling both in originals and prints. Favorite prints have been the small 6×8 metal prints, 12×14 matted prints and tile coaster sets. Now I have more variety for the 4 coaster set and I’m excited about that. Just sold a pillow this week as well.
This particular painting is being donated to the Delray Beach Cornell Museum of Art, Extraordinary 6×6 Art Sale. The show will be on exhibit from July 1 until sale day, July 28. If you have your eye on this one, you may want to plan to be at the sale. All proceeds will go to the Museum.
